The exhibition of the 20th century fine arts was opened for visitors in 1971 in the former building of recreation center – it was built in pseudo-classical style in front of the Manor House in the 1930s.

The basis of the exposition became works of painters who were members of "The Knave of Diamonds" artistic union: Pyotr Konchalovsky, Aristarkh Lentulov, Ilya Mashkov, Alexander Osmerkin, Vasily Rozhdenstvensky and Robert Falk. Apart of it the exposition boasts of pictures by Nikolay Andronov, Andrey Vasnetsov, Igor Grabar, Evgeniya Maleina, Dementy Shmarinov, Nadezhda Udaltsova and others.

The collection includes sculptures by Vera Mukhina and Boris Korolyov. Many of these artists lived and worked in the Village of Artists that appeared near the Museum in the 1930s, on the opposite bank of the Vorya River.
